The Obligatory 100 Things

I completely stole this from another blog... but love the idea.  If you read, you are tagged, but don't feel obligated since it is so long.  It is interesting to see what you think up about yourself.

1. I was born in Big Spring, Texas on July 26, 1980 during the hottest summer on record in Texas.

2. I lived in a town of approximately 400 until I was in college.

3. I know how to play 5 instruments - clarinet, alto saxophone, coronet, drums, and piano.

4. I remember the day I accepted Christ very vividly. I remember watching a music video that played showing someone hammering nails into Jesus' hands and that was it.

5. If I could have any job in the world it would be a World War II historian.

6. As a child, I would often quote my favorite food as raw carrots.

7. I know how to shoot a gun and I'm pretty darned accurate.

8. I hate having to call people on the phone.  Always have.

9. I often wonder what heaven really looks like.

10. My dream car would be a Mercedes SLK350.  White with two-tone black/tan interior.

11. My current vehicle is a 2002 Jeep Liberty 4x4 (red) and I really love it. I love knowing that I may not be faster than your sports car, but your sports car can't climb up a 14,000 ft. peak.

12. My favorite place to visit is Colorado.

13.  I can ski black diamond ski slopes, but prefer blue-blacks.

14. I am very critical of myself in pictures.  I will pick apart every flaw, hair out of place, etc.

15. I remember where I was for two events: 9/11 and Princess Diana's death.

16. I love the smell of the original scent Dawn liquid soap because it reminds me of my grandmother's house.

17. My favorite flower is a garden variety rose called a peace rose.

18. If I could buy every piece of jewelry from James Avery, I would.

19. My favorite fruit is Texas peaches in summer.

20. I have never smoked, not even once.

21. My favorite sport to watch is NBA Basketball.

22. My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:2-3.

23. I believe the DVR and the iPod might be the greatest life-impacting inventions of my lifetime.

24. There is no way I could ever have one favorite singer - I like too many and have very diverse tastes in music.

25.  I can't stand the smell of Red Bull Energy Drink.

26. I have a congenitally missing tooth.

27.  I still remember my childhood phone number and address.

28. Every year at Easter, I enjoy one box of Cadbury creme eggs.

29. I am a research executive assistant to 3 research analysts and one portfolio manager.  They manage a mutual fund.

30. My favorite season is fall.

31. I had braces for 3 years and it was worth it.

32. I was born breech.

33. If I allow myself in the summer, I can tan very dark (but I don't).

34. I love the heat of West Texas in the summer.

35. I am a stickler for spelling and pronunciation.

36. My husband is a redhead and I love that about him.

37. Speaking of red - did I mention it is my favorite color? I guess it has to be - my car is red, so is hubby's, nearly everything in my house is red, my hubby's first truck when I met him was red. It is inevitable that my favorite color be red.

38. I am a morning person.

39. I really enjoy my Sunday afternoon nap.

40. My first experience with the internet was AOL, probably about 1992.

41. I enjoy keeping up with the news.  I check Foxnews.com all day from my desk.

42. I consider my years at college some of the best years of my life, so far.

43. Many people would consider me a perfectionist.

44. I am very particular about writing instruments, i.e. pens & pencils.

45. I think Hot Tamales (the candy) are gross.

46. I believe I have a high pain tolerance.

47. I think some of the clothing teens are wearing is vulgar.  Does that make me square or too old?

48. I know how to sew.

49. I've been to the top of an oil derrick.

50. I've only flown in an airplane once in my life and it was for a 45 minute flight.

51. My birthstone is a ruby.

52. My favorite perfumes are Ralph Lauren Pure Turquoise and Clinque Happy.

53. Music profoundly affects me.  It can make me emotional very easily.

54. I am a stomach sleeper.

55. If I have nightmares, I inevitably find myself sleeping on my back.  It is really weird.

56. I have naturally stick-straight hair.

57. I do not believe in aliens.  I am not sure about ghosts.

58. I love to be barefoot.  Shoes are for the birds.

59. With that said, one of my weaknesses is buying pretty shoes.

60. I won first place in the 7th grade for the UIL competition Maps, Charts, and Graphs.

61. I won a gold medal my junior year in high school (with my 3 other team members) for district academic decathlon.

62. I like the name Ashley for a girl, if we ever have one.

63. I can't stand bad drivers.

64. I prefer silver jewelry to gold.

65. My favorite ice cream is peanut butter n' chocolate from Baskin Robbins.

66. Every March 1st, I call my mom and ask her if March is coming in like a lion or in like a lamb.

67. I have never had a broken bone, stitches, or surgery of any kind.

68. I hate roller coasters.

69. I can play tennis, but stink at all other sports.

70. My three favorite movies are Father of the Bride, Legends of the Fall, and Gone With The Wind.

71. My favorite books include Angela's Ashes, Gone With The Wind, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Rocket Boys.

72. I have read Gone With The Wind twice and doubt that will be the last.

73.  When traveling, my husband and I have been known to stop for historical markers.

74. I love Texas History and know many interesting facts about Texas.

75. I occasionally drink buttermilk.

76. I love period movies.

77. I can sing and took one semester of voice lessons in college.

78. I am an only child and because of that, I believe, I like being by myself sometimes.

79.  I know that I am blessed but often feel completely unworthy of God's love.

80. I can't stand gangster rap music.

81. I learned to read at the age of 3 1/2.

82. I absolutely love it when my husband and I find something completely side-splitting hilarious and lose our breath laughing together.

83. My full name has 24 letters (married name).

84. I go by my middle name.

85. I don't like excuses.

86. One of my pet peeves is naming children names with odd spellings or just strange names in general. Celebrity baby names are the worst.

87. I do not have and probably will never have a tattoo.

88. I am terrified of tornadoes, even though I've never seen one in person.

89. I remember my first cd player and dvd player.  I also remember listening to cassette tapes on my pink jam box.

90. I don't always shave my legs.  Tell me why God had to give women leg hair again?

91. I have been asked often if I am Jewish because of a ring I wear that has Hebrew writing on it.

92. In kindergarten, I refused to wear pants to school.  I only wanted to wear dresses.

93. I am not good at being comforting to someone grieving.

94. I am terrified of paper cuts.  Something about that feeling gives me the heebie jeebies.

95. I think the U.S. is way too wrapped up in celebrities and their lives.

96. I like to cook.

97. One of my favorite things is an ice cold Dublin Dr Pepper in a glass bottle.

98. I believe that with God there is no such thing as a coincidence.

99. The Tide-To-Go Pen is a grand invention.

100. I am very grateful to have such a wonderful husband.
